ISSUANCE OF NEW ARMS LICENSE FOR INDIVIDUALS:
This service can be processed if applicant is an individual who has applied for the fresh arms license or applied as applicant is the legal heir of his parent/guardian whereas his parent either expired or attained 70 years of age or unable to handle weapon anymore accordingly authority may consider to grant license in place of parent license.
As a result of this service licensee will get two output, one is the A4 size arms license and another is acquisition/addition of firearm permission letter that defines the kind of weapon the licensee can procure/acquire with the time frame.
RENEWAL OF ARMS LICENSE:
This service can be processed in case applicant has applied for renewal of arms license which is either about to expire or already expired.
As a result of this service licensee will get arms license with updated license validity dates.
ACQUISITION OF FIREARM:
This service is required if licensee wants to get the permission letter from arms licensing authority saying what kind of weapon he/she wants to procure with purchase time period.
The printed letter is required for the purchase of new weapon and get it endorsed on license in the issuing authority subsequently.
Note:
This service will only provide the weapon purchase/procure permission letter and not the actual addition of weapon on license. Licensee has to get the weapon endorsed once he procured the weapon and apply through 'Endorsement of firearm on arms license' service.
ENDORSEMENT OF WEAPON IN ARMS LICENSE:
This service is processed in case if the user has procured the weapon and approached the licensing authority to endorse/add the acquired weapon into his license. Remember this service only processed when licensee is in possession of the weapon.
As a result of this service the new weapon will start reflecting against the license.
SALE/TRANSFER/GIFT OF WEAPON:
This service needs to be processed when licensee seeks the permission from licensing authority to sale/transfer/gift the weapon to someone (dealer/ individual etc.,). At the end of this service licensee will get the permission letter printed from the licensing authority.
Note:
This service will not automatically delete the weapon from the license and it will only provide the permission letter as an output of the service. After getting the permission letter he/she may sell/transfer/gift his weapon and then apply for 'Deletion of weapon from arms license' service to get the weapon actually deleted/removed from the license.
DELETION OF WEAPON FROM ARMS LICENSE:
This service is being processed when the licensee wants the weapon to be deleted which is in his/ her possession. That means, the licensee has already sold/gifted/transferred/scrapped his/ her weapon and now not possessing the weapon anymore. As a result of this service the weapon will be removed from the license as requested.
EXTENSION OF AREA VALIDITY OF ARMS LICENSE:
This service is being processed when applicant apply for extension of area validity of the license. At the end of this service, the licensee will get a license with the desired extended area validity.
REGISTRATION OF OUTSIDE LICENESE:
When arms licensee transferred/moved/relocated from one licensing authority jurisdiction to other licensing authority jurisdiction, then the arms license holder must register himself with the current arms licensing authority in his jurisdiction. As a result of this service licensee will get the license with current address details in the license.
Note:
This service should be exercised only if there is a change of jurisdiction. However, 'change of address within the jurisdiction service' is to be used if the both the address falls on the same licensing authority.
CHANGE OF ADDRESS WITHIN THE JURISDICTION:
When licensee changes his current residence within the same licensing authority jurisdiction then this service needs to be processed.
As a result of this service licensee will get the license with present address updated.
EXTENSION OF PURCHASE PERIOD OF WEAPON:
This service is used, if the licensee is unable to procure the weapon within the stipulated time frame. As a result of this service, licensee will get a permission letter to acquire the weapon with extended purchase period dates.
CONVERSION OF ONE TYPE OF WEAPON TO ANOTHER TYPE:
This service is used when the licensee is already in possession of acquisition of weapon purchase permission letter to buy some type of weapon. But due to some reason or other, the licensee decides to purchase some other weapon instead of weapon in the permission letter.
As a result of this service licensee will get permission letter to buy another weapon he/she has applied for.
ISSUANCE OF DUPLICATE ARMS LICENSE:
This service is used when the license got lost/ damaged due to some external factors.
As a result of this service, licensee will get a duplicate license issued.
CHANGE OF QUANTITY OF AMMUNITION:
This service is used, when the licensing authority or licensee wants to alter the quantity of ammunition procured one time/ yearly basis. This service needs to be followed for each and every weapon in his processed.
As a result of this service, licensee will get the license with updated one time/ yearly ammunition quota against the weapon selected during application acceptance.
Cancellation/ Suspension / Revocation of Arms License:
There are three scenarios in which user department can process this service.
In first case, if applicant has applied to cancel his arms license as he/she do not wish to possess the weapon anymore or licensing authority themselves decided to cancel applicants license. May please note, the license that is being cancelled shall never be reinstated.
In second case, if licensing authority would like to temporary suspend the license due to some criminal case against the licensee or any such event due to which licensing authority do not want the licensee to carry the weapon anymore for the time being. Suspended license can be reinstated to active status and allied services can be exercised thereafter.
In third case, If licensing authority suspended any license in the past, then the same can be reinstated which makes it active license again and allied services can be availed against that license.
